Matthew Hughes

These are all drypoints, or drypoint etchings as they are sometimes called. An image is incised onto a copper plate with various sharp-tipped tools along with any number of techniques and tools to manipulate tonal gradations. The plate is then inked by hand and run through an etching press in my studio.
